How Smart Tab Saver handles information on this website and in the browser extension.

Last updated: 22 October 2026. Smart Tab Saver is developed by JavocSoft. Questions about this policy or your information can be sent to smarttabsaver@gmail.com.

Information in the extension

The extension stores saved pages, session titles, browsing history, preferences, Quick Access pins and some recovery information in your browser. Your browser's storage is used for these local features. The extension accesses browser bookmarks only if you grant the optional bookmarks permission. It can create or delete a bookmark when you ask it to; bookmarks remain in your browser.

Some settings, including your account token and AI provider keys if supplied, are stored using Chrome's synced extension storage. Whether those settings move between devices depends on your browser's sync settings.

Optional Smart Tab Saver account sync

If you activate account synchronization, Smart Tab Saver uses your email address and account token to identify your account. Saved Sessions and Pocket entries, including their page titles and URLs, can be uploaded to the Smart Tab Saver synchronization service and downloaded on another installation. Notes you add to named sessions are included in that synchronization. When a saved session contains Chrome tab groups, their names and colors are included so the groups can be recreated when restored. Browser bookmarks, extension history, Quick Access pins, local trash and window recovery points are not included in that upload.

Synchronization is optional. You can use the extension's local organization features without creating an account. The extension also provides session export and import for a local backup; that backup does not include your account credentials, AI keys, browser bookmarks or browsing history.

Sharing a session

Copy links keeps the session in your browser and places its name, page titles and URLs on your clipboard; it does not copy the session note. To create a public web page, you must have an activated account and choose the pages to share. Before a page is created, the sharing preview shows the session note if present. Including it on the public page requires you to select an unchecked choice. We store a separate copy of that session's name and chosen page titles and URLs, any note you chose to include, the account that created it, its creation date, and an expiry date if you choose one. We do not publish your account email, sync token, browsing history, bookmarks, or AI keys. Creating a shared page does not turn on account synchronization or product email.

Anyone with the shared link can see its contents, including the optional note, full URLs and any information they contain. The extension shows the note and pages before you publish. You choose when a page expires, from one day to five years, or choose no expiry; the default is 30 days. A page without an expiry stays available until you remove it or your account is disabled. From Shared pages in the extension, you can add, replace, or remove the note on a page you already shared, change its expiry (which starts a new period), or remove the entire page. These note changes are visible immediately to anyone with the link and do not alter the note in your saved session. The link stops working if the page expires, is removed, or the account is disabled. Changes to your original session or its note do not automatically change an existing shared page. Its chosen page links stay fixed. Older shared pages keep their previous contents unless you explicitly add a note from Shared pages. Your active shared-page list is available only after account authentication. The QR on a shared page is generated in the visitor's browser from that page's direct URL; we do not send it to a QR or URL-shortening service. We do not include public shared pages in search-engine indexing.

Optional AI features

AI features require a provider key you configure. If you use them, your questions and relevant saved titles, URLs or history may be sent directly to the provider you select, such as OpenAI or Perplexity. The provider processes that request under its own privacy terms. The extension stores the key in browser synced storage so it can be used for your requests.

Website and contact

When you visit this website, the hosting service can process technical request information such as your IP address, browser details and the page requested. If you submit feedback, we process your rating and optional comment to improve Smart Tab Saver. If you have an account, the extension sends your account token so the service can link the feedback to your account; the administration page then shows your account email. Without an account, you may provide an optional contact email so we can reply and, if you choose website sharing, send confirmation and withdrawal links. That email does not create an account or subscribe you to product updates. Account activation and recovery pages use browser sessions. The public pages do not load an analytics script.

You may separately allow JavocSoft to show your written feedback on this website. The choice is off by default. If you choose it, we record the time and notice version, your public name or nickname, and a private confirmation and withdrawal token. People without an activated account must confirm their contact email before we can consider their comment. Authorized staff select each comment manually; permission does not guarantee publication. Only the selected comment and public name or nickname appear on the website, never your email or account details. Feedback submitted before this choice was offered is not eligible. The confirmation email includes a link to withdraw permission at any time; withdrawal removes a published comment from the website and does not delete the private feedback you sent us. You can also contact us to request removal.

Product updates by email

Product news is optional. After activating your account, you can explicitly choose “Receive updates” in the extension's Account and cloud settings. We use your account email address only to send occasional Smart Tab Saver feature and product news, never third-party advertising. This choice is separate from creating an account, synchronization, feedback, and service emails such as activation and token recovery. Existing newsletter flags without a recorded choice are not treated as consent.

You can stop these emails at any time in the same settings or with the unsubscribe link in every update. For choices made in settings, we record the date, source, and notice version, including withdrawal, so we can respect and demonstrate the choice. Resend processes delivery and email-link unsubscribe requests. The extension's account settings also check Resend's delivery preference; after using an email-link unsubscribe, you can explicitly choose to resume updates there. Withdrawing does not affect your account, saved sessions, or essential service emails. For access, deletion, or questions about these records, contact us below.

Our private administration page lets authorized staff review account status and feedback, record whether a suggestion is pending, accepted, processed, rejected or a comment requiring no action, note the extension version in which it was processed, and keep an internal review note. We do not use this page to read locally stored browser history or bookmarks.

The website links to other services, including the Chrome Web Store, JavocSoft's portfolio and Ko-fi. If you follow one of those links, that service's own privacy terms apply.
